LONGARM QUILTING
A Notion to Sew & Quilt is proud to own a 14' Gammill Statler Stitcher Longarm machine that we've named Eva after both my Great Grandmother & Grandmother. They were both amazing women who quilted, made all sorts of needlework and clothing. It seemed appropriate we named it after them.
We are currently doing Edge to Edge (E2E) Longarm Quilting (LAQ) services with thousands of digital patterns to choose from. I do all the manual labour except for the stitching. Eva does the rest while I supervise.
Our basic charge is 2.5 cents per square inch with a minimum charge of $50.
This will include your thread, last minute prep of the 3 layers and trimming once finished if you desire.
We currently carry a wide array of wide backing in various sizes, (60", 71", 90", 108") textiles, solid colours and prints. Purchase your wide backing from us and your batting is charged to you at wholesale pricing.
The batting we currently use is either a natural colour in 80 cotton/20 poly or a black 70 cotton/30 poly mixture. If you'd prefer a different batting, then we'll order it in for you. We can quilt up to 12" apart with this special made batting so it allows you the option of mini quilting or the same pattern stitched out to 12" apart. The larger the design, the more flexibilty the finished quilt becomes which makes it more comfy cozy.
We work with you to complete your flimsie (quilt top) and make it the quilt you want. We'll help you choose design, how many repeats and rows, thread colour and the backing and batting too. We want you to be happy with your creation.
Pre-Prep
Please pre-prep your quilt before bringing it in or mailing it to me.
* Not necessary, but extra special to work with, is if you sew close to the edge around the entire quilt.
* Trim excess threads on front and back.
* Make sure all pins are out.
* Press your flimsie. I'll still do a last minute pressing.
- If dropping off please hang it on a hanger to reduce wrinkles and fold lines.
- If mailing in, please still press it. It helps.
If Mailing or Curbside Drop Off
* Make arrangements for drop off date and time.
* Attach your name and phone number to your flimsie.
